2024 Kia Carnival Hybrid

To stay competitive in today’s electric vehicle (EV) market, the 2024 Kia Carnival EV (or whatever name it brings to production) needs to offer a range of around 450 to 500 km, a 10 to 80 percent charge time of around 30 minutes, and performance that equals or exceeds the petrol-powered 200kW V6 Kia Carnival.

Kia Carnival has committed to launching 11 new electric vehicles by 2026, six of which are SUVs or human-driven – consisting of four models on the new E-GMP modular platform, and two on the same architecture as petrol and diesel vehicles.

With the next-generation Niro small SUV – which offers petrol-electric hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric options – set to occupy one of the two slots, the combustion-based EV Kia Carnival is expected to fill the second slot. Не обошлось и без привычной для Киа плюшки покупателям, в данном случае ею стала т. н. «система релаксации». Попросту, нажатием одной кнопки сидение раскладывается наподобие шезлонга, в полулежачее положение. Задремать в ожидании жены с парикмахерской — самое то.

Водителя встречает многофункциональный руль с подогревом и регулировками, в топовых комплектациях сразу два 12-дюймовых экрана: левый, за рулем, выполняет функции цифровой панели приборов, а правый, по центру передней панели, экрана системы мультимедиа, включающей в себя премиальную аудиосистему.

Чуть ниже расположена панель управления настройками климата, в самом низу место для беспроводной зарядки сразу нескольких смартфонов. На центральном тоннеле расположилась шайба управления режимами трансмиссии, а чуть правее — подстаканники.

Сидения спереди оборудованы электрорегулировками, памятью настроек, подогревом и вентиляцией, но самый комфортный второй ряд. Его даже против хода развернуть можно, причем по частям. Средняя часть при складывании образует мини-столик для пикника в дороге. Но вообще, вариантов трансформации салона множество.

Помимо всего прочего, для второго ряда предусмотрено автономное управление собственным климатом на вынесенном пульте, таким образом, водителя беспокоить по мелочам не придется.

Комплектации и цены

Наименования комплектаций привычны для марки Киа, но примечательно, что бензиновая версия дороже дизельной, а базовая, начальная оснащена дизелем:

Официальная премьера нового кроссовера состоялась в марте 2021 года, а старт продаж назначен на 14 апреля. А вот когда появится новинка у региональных дилеров, сказать однозначно нельзя, но скорее всего, к началу мая автомобиль будет доступен в самых отдаленных уголках России.

According to Korean testing procedures, the front-wheel-drive Sorento hybrid model on the 19-inch large wheels draws 7.0 liters of gasoline per 100km on the combined cycle, compared to 7.5L/100km for the all-wheel-drive diesel variant on the 20-inch. Wheels a reduction of nearly seven percent (or more, when compared to the 3.5-liter V6 offered in Australia, but not in Korea).

Applying that reduction to the Australian Kia Carnival could result in a combined fuel economy claim of 6.1L/100km – a nearly 60 percent reduction compared to the V6-powered 2024 Kia Carnival Platinum sold at local showrooms.

Fewer details are known about the electric model, although it will likely be based on the same basics as the Kia Carnival combustion, rather than Hyundai and Kia’s custom ‘E-GMP’ architecture designed specifically for electric vehicles.
